Economy
The population is about 170000 people live there. Tahitian natives still fish for tuna, marlin, and shark the old-fashioned way. Commercial farming is an important part of Tahiti's economy. Japan, Korea, and the United States pay to fish here. In some parts of the island People live in traditional villages. These homes are made of coconut and pandanus leaves. Some houses have thatched roofs and could be kind of broken down because not really durable. Richer people have better houses like in the picture above. All of Tahiti major business is fishing, farming, and tourism.
Currency
The currency of Tahiti is the CFP Franc. All of French Polynesia uses this currency. 1 US dollar is the same as 92.76 CFP Franc and 1 CFP Franc is the same as 0.01 US dollar.
